Submissions
Please check the imprints page before you submit so you know what genre to submit under. We are open to hybrid or blended genres, but a submission under an imprint will more likely be accepted. If your book doesn't fit under one of the imprints, please explain why.
We will acknowledge receipt of your submission. If you don't receive the acknowledgement within a few days, please submit again. Check your spam folder. If your submission is rejected—I know, it does hurt—we will try our best to explain why, and if we see potential, we may ask for you to resubmit after you have made some revisions. If so, please preface your submission with the word "Revision."
It is imperative that your book has not been available for purchase elsewhere within the last five years. If it has been published before under a different publisher and is no longer available—and has not been for five years—your book will be published as a second edition. Unfortunately, we cannot accept currently or previously self-published books.
Remember that a rejection is not a failure. Sitting down and writing a book in itself is an immense feat. Sending it out in the hopes of it reaching online shelves takes courage.
The thing with creative pursuits is that the Dunning-Kruger Effect can play a part. A first-time or newish book writer can overestimate their knowledge of the craft and their ability to create a story or message that is conveyed clearly and which will grab readers' attention. If you receive a rejection, don't see it as the end of your dream. Most bestselling writers received many rejection letters before their first contract. See it as an opportunity to learn more about the craft. Even if your first book never gets published, it was training for you, and the experience of writing it was a joy. And if it does get published, remember that you never stop learning even if you've written 50 books. It's about the journey and the process—that's where true joy comes from—not about the end goal.
We also have personal preferences as do most publishers. A rejection can be a subjective thing, so don't take it too much to heart.
